Throttle pedal replacement
#1
I am replacing the throttle pedal on my 2012 Berlingo van 1.6hdi which should include the position sensor. Can someone tell me if I need to code this in or just change it without the need to code it into the van??

What do you mean by "position sensor"?

I’ve been told by the dealer that the throttle position sensor is part of the throttle pedal assembly so to change the throttle position sensor I’d need to change the pedal.

The pedal is electronic, containing two potentiometers. There are two pedal models. One with a limiter override switch for the cruise control with speed limit, and one without.

There is no TPS sensor as such, like on petrol models. The engine ECU (injection calculator) reads the pedal position from the potentiometer voltages and so it knows where it is.

Start at the beginning, what is actually happening?

(The pedal is the "throttle" control so I suppose you can call it a TPS...but there's no extra sensor. And Diesel engines don't have a throttle body like a petrol, just an injection control ECU and a fly by wire pedal)
