[Engine] What is this knocking sound? 2.0 hdi
#1
Hi

I have a 2004 partner 2.0 hdi Siemens

Yesterday,  and out of the blue, the car sounded "rough" and heard a nasty knocking sound while accelerating.

This is a video of the problem

Not to lead anyone, but my first instict was perhaps it was injectors. I have PP2000 but I understood nothing of these injector values

What could it possibly be?

The number 1 pressure values seem high at 115 % ( ??? ) Could be a sticky injector.

Possibly a bottle of diesel injector cleaner will help .

Hi

Thank you for your response!
Should i just add the cleaner to the fuel tank or what?

Btw, did another test/measures today and here is what i got. Looks even worse...

I don't understand the " % " either... i see it shows up for others as mm³/stroke in other posts... i don't know what the % means

One way of checking blocked injector pipe was to touch it and if it is hotter than the rest its a sign of a blockage either in the pipe or injector,

When i had a 2.0 ltr I used redex every fill up put in the tank.

I assume the % means its 115.% of the max pressure 259 bar .

Why is it in French .Isn't there a way of changing language unless you are French ?

Edit Sorry did'nt notice you are from Tunisia

I normally pre-fill a new fuel filter with Forte Injector Cleaner. It's one of those things that everyone's got an opinion in, but that's what works for me.

If you're not sure about the numbers the diagnostic system is giving you, you can do a leak-off test. No need for fancy kit, just some pipe and 4 coke bottles works. Run the return pipes from the injectors into a bottle each and see which one/s fill up fastest, they'll be the faulty ones.
Could be worse.... Could be a Caddy.

I can change the language to English and retake the picture tomorrow  and post it here.

I don't know either! I will give the spill test a go perhaps

So from each injector return,  i plug a pipe and see which one fills fastest? That's the faulty one? But each injector has two return pipes coming out of it? Which one?
