EMF A Display Fading
#1
My Multi-Function Clock Display (EMF A) fades on my 2006 Berlingo whenever it gets heated up.

This also happens with the EMF B displays as described in this thread: https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-799...l#pid95626

While I could replace the clock based on the part number (96636543XT): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266212423004

It's my understanding that this is a design flaw with every EMF A clock I buy and eventually, I will run into the same problem.

In the thread about the EMF B display the solution was to replace the display with one from a 2001 Citroen C5 and convert the display from green to orange.

Does anyone know if this method works for an EMF A display?

It's a few years since I changed mine but I'm pretty sure I got my replacement display from a C3, it's the newer style and displays correctly and is orange as standard so didn't need any faffing around with the polarizing covers.

I did a Google search for Citroen emf an and had a bit from the french car forum where someone wanted to downgrade from an emf c to an emf a

Apparently it worked and the poster was happy so it would follow that you can go from an a to a b

Have a Google for yourself as it is your money and the due diligence is yours

Cannot help any more sorry, good luck !
