Tailgate/Boot problem and solved

Sorry it's longwinded but a difficult problem to explain.

Had a problem with the latch for months.

park up, lock the car, all doors locked, come back unlock the car , get in, turn ignition and open door light comes on.

Get out check all doors and the boot is not latched so just lifts up. close the boot and it stays shut till the next time and repeat.

Months googling but couldn't find anything then bingo (googles algowhatsits) found this video

so checked for the click and works then doesn't and the flap seemed to be sticking, first things first get the silicone oil and give it a good spray into the top of the lever and another under the bottom of the lever.

Second Bingo, it worked and didn't have to take anything apart like in the video.I now have a perfect locking car.
