Berlingo 2007 1.6 hdi - intermittent sticky accelerator pedal
#1
Morning all
I had an issue with the van yesterday. The heater was on full (into the footwell) and we were stuck in traffic for a quite a while. The accelerator started to stick and not return, resulting in very high revs, that took a few secs to return to normal idle. I was able to put my foot underneath the pedal, to push it back up, which got me home. I went back to to the van afterwards (about half an hour) to see if I could find out what it was, but the pedal was no longer sticking and seemed fine. Could it have been something to do with the constant heat going onto the pedal from the blower ? If so, I assume I could add some lubricant to the pivot ??
thanks

Just read a couple of threads from other members, and it looks like it's not an uncommon problem. I will follow the advice given on the other threads..

It is a simple and quick job to remove the pedal assembly.

Liquid lube is then easily applied.

Dismantling further looks problematic and probably best left alone though new assemblies are readily available if it all goes tits up.

I thought that I had fixed my sticky accelerator pedal but it has returned. It is a 2007 M59 1.6 diesel. Does anyone know if the pedal from any other citroen or peugeot can be sued instead. There seem to be plenty of B9 pedals on Ebay

I've been wondering the same, mines gone again, close matches but no direct on Ebay.

I took mine apart and lubricated the pivot but it was only a temporary cure. I have fixed it though with a new pedal from Citroen at £202 plus VAT.

Ouch, gone up a bit too from when I last enquired a few years ago!
May have to go the same route.
