Nox sensor issues and Red OBD?
#1
Back again with another problem. Of course.....

Peugeot Partner 2016 1.6 BlueHDi

On the first long journey after my Adblue tank was replaced in October, I got the same emissions countdown, but with error U029D lost communication with Nox sensor.

I reset the countown using Diagbox to reinitialise the existing Nox sensor.

I've now dismantled the sensor and cleaned the corrosion inside, plus resoldered a dodgy joint, but to no avail.

I bought a new OEM Nox sensor for £203 from Neo Brothers - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225266577238.

Ebay was hugely cheaper than going to them direct.

There were lots of Chinese copies with good reviews, but still over the £100 mark.

I fitted it today and once the faults were cleared, my cheap OBD2 reader shows no current or pending faults.

However, the car is still running the emissions fault countdown - currently 400 miles to go...

BSI reset doesn't clear it.

I'm hoping that all that is required is for the Nox sensor to be reinitialised.

Here's my problem.

Diagbox sees the Lexia interface, but my Lexia, no longer see's the car. Of course.

The company I bought it from is no longer responding, so there is no guarantee. Of course.

So the questions.

1. Is it likely that reinitialising the Nox sensor is all that's required, given no apparent fault codes?

2. Is there any other way to reset the emissions fault countdown?

3. Is the Red OBD, pinned by Sol, any good?

4 Any other experience with scan tools such as the XTOOL D7?

Thanks in advance

EDIT. Just found the OBD RED thread.

Found a few ODB tools that may be of interest, if I can only get a response from them about their capabilities.

Foxwell NT530 - NT710
MUCAR MUCAR CDE900 Pro

The French car forum has anecdotal info on the Foxwells capability, though the company claims it can't do what the user says it can.....

The Mucar appears to do coding, resets and new parts.

It's available for £99 then you buy the lifetime capability and upgrades at various prices.

The $99 for everything seems to be a very good deal and it says it can do Nox, Adblue and Eolys, though I've had no confirmation from them yet.
