Hi
I upgraded my stereo to RD45 to add USB and Bluetooth calling using a used kit from eBay
Installed OK microphone in factory fitted position overhead near interior light
Calls work well but people say sound quality is bad on there end, tinny and distant
Any ideas why this is or how I can improve outgoing sound quality
Cheers

Mine came factory fitted at the top of the A-pillar. Velcro attaching it to the soft liner. The only person who has mentioned anything is my old man, who says, and I quote "Sounds like you're shouting in a biscuit tin". I'm not sure if it makes any difference that he's using WhatsApp to call as he lives abroad and that makes it a lot cheaper. People on normal mobile or landline systems haven't complained about quality, one did say it sounded like I was driving (he was right).

Right OK
I had to route cable through dash and up A pillar to bulkhead but that's way they are usually routed so don't think any issue with interference
Maybe try replacing mic with a newer used one it can unclip from connector near mic end and just replace that
Worth a try maybe
