The creation of my personal solo-travellor.

There are quite some good articles about profits of tilted solar panels. It is ofcourse logic that tilted panels will create more energy then the flat once. The question is also ‘how flat’? I there is no space between the solar panel and roof, the heat will become a problem in which the profits go down, too.

To be honest, during driving my powerhouse will be filled with 120 Watt, this will be the number 1 producer. As a amateur photographer, I drive and search for nice spots. When I park the car – during my wander trips, I will use the tilted solar panel technique. And travelling throughout Southern Europe, I will park my microcamper on a shadow spot and use the two mobile solar panels (tilted) towards the sun. I did it in Spain (Extremadura) and it was GREAT!!!!!! All the big campervans were burning away in the 36+ Celcius sun, while I was on a shadow spot, with 10 meter wires on the mobile solar panels. These 2 mobile solar panels (140 Watt) cost me 120 euro’s, so rather cheap.
So, these are the three ways to produce energy for my Anker powerhouse 757.

Practice?  In Spain – with 12 hour sun per day, the score was always 90% plus. Yeah, constantly full.
I add some tables to this reply, so you have an idea about the amount of tilt. Making a solar panel tilted is rather a simple technique, it hardly cost you money. Both the arm handles cost me lesser than 10 euro’s.

By the way, there are some great youtube clips ‘how to build a tilted system. Enter the name; Thomas Heaton in You tube, truely  great video’s!

Hello everybody, it’s been awhile. A period of low activity although we have finished the imperial completely with a strong solarpanel, which will be active during my wildlife photo-shoots. In the Netherlands (with clouds) it added 140 Watt. During the day I will park my car in the shadow and will use the two mobile solarpanels, so it stay cool in the car while still adding 140 Watt per hour. Yes, I need to change the Anderson connectors by hand. Next year we will make a switch in the dashboard.

No Luna table this year, will place the notebook on my lap.  I find a luna table not practical in a micro-camper. I can ‘dive’now from my workspace directly to the bed. The bed stay small, so I will not enlarge it anymore to 75 cm.In between the kitchenblock and my bed I will put my two mobile solarpanels vertical.
On top of the kitchen, I add another crater to fill with goods, never used that space effectively, now I will fill it, but can clean it too.
I am so pleased to use the heavy Anderson connectors, no weak links between my powerhouse and the electric instruments.

Last year Spain was too heavy (Extremadura). Temperature was between 31 and 42 degrees Celcius, so I left it for the region around Bilbao. I found one tree, to wander around it, yeahhh it was hell. So I have made a ‘poor man awning’. For 72 euro’s. Very simple and mobile too. Two tubes I can enlarge easily to 2 meters (opposite of the drivers seat. The solarpanel on the roof might be active, while I am sitting underneath the shadow curtain. But hopefully I will find a tree and use the two mobile solar panels. I will stay for 6 weeks off grid, from next Wednesday. With 12 hours of sun per day, it can be done. Looking forward to my next experience throughout Spain. Take care all
