Key programming
#1
ok over the years my keys were taped together and one lost...
I managed to get a new blade cut after a couple of attempts...
so will get a few spares done.....

As the key is defined as Obsolete by my Key Man....
so first thing...
I was told that it has to be in the car to program a new transducer....
I presume this is using Lexia...
Is it possible to do it by any other means?
I have a Delphi diagnostic system... just with a mate at the mo....

Second... I have one remote circuit board, I note new remote keys are quite expensive....
Any other options to get another remote (see them cheap with transponder on Aliexpress)?

Timpsons did me a key from the old one in one of their shops. It's not a remote key but it opens and starts the car. Not cheap but t was easy.
So where does this bit go then ?

looked at timpsons....
but a key and transponder are a couple of quid from China... why pay £60 to timpsons..
my key cutter does them for £2-3 if you have the blank, so it is just the programming...
ut a little confused as one key place said they could only be programmed in the car

Just illustrating that they can be done out of the car. To programme keys in the car via Lexia you need the pin code which came with the vehicle when new and I don't have that or Lexia so couldn't do it.
So where does this bit go then ?

appreciated, just there seems to be conflicting info from "online" key cutter/programmers...
