When they introduced the electric version they phased out fossil fuelled berlingos.
They almost immediately backtracked due to demand and had to reintroduce them but the renewed homolagation was for commercial vehicle
Vehicles subsequently fitted out as cars had to follow this.
You will notice a bulkhead behind the front seats as a tell-tale sign on these cars.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Yeah I noticed it in the brochures...it wasn't till I ordered it that I noticed the classification. was worried that it was going to be speed restricted like it commercial variation.

AFAIK the vehicles themselves arent restricted -its the UK speed limit for the driver to stick to.
My B9 van will do any speed my wallet thinks appropriate.

Citroen UK mention it here,

https://www.citroen.co.uk/models/berlingo.html

If the dealer didn't mention it to you and it matters, I'd be planning to make a large fuss and cancel the order. You thought you were buying a car, not a van.

(It appears that Citroen have shot themselves in the foot on fleet emissions rules, and are pretending the fossil-fuel Berlingo MPV are vans to get around that, since the all-electric one is largely useless for the sort of use people put them to. Hence the van-like mesh bulkhead.)

Hi....Your spot on.

There is next to mention of the likely impact of this vehicle being classed as a van.
there is such a thing as a Car Derived Van that are exempt the speed restrictions.
I wont know that until I get the V5 back...
