Berlingo multispace Clockspring issue
#1
Hello, I’ve had a problem with my horn which I cured by taking airbag off and cleaning the contacts. After putting every thing back horn worked but now have an airbag warning light on! It looks like I’ve disturbed and broken a wire inside the white ribbons! I’m really up against it as I can’t find another complete unit to replace the failed one. The unit I’ve got is a coms 2000 and year of car is 2008 and has 3 white ribbons inside but only looks like 2 are being used , the 3rd is just parked?
I’ve found a coms 2005 unit but it only has two ribbons on it does anyone know if this unit would be compatible.
As a last resort I’ve seen just clock spring advertised but they look a nightmare to fit and solder in.
Sorry this a bit long winded but would really appreciate any help on the subject. Cheers Dave

Firstly to get more chance of any replies, you really need to post this in your actual Berlingo model forum [rather than the general introduction forum] maybe one of the moderators could move the post to the correct forum [probably a M59 Berlingo but could be a B9 as 2008 was cut-over year]

Secondly before you go and start buying anything or taking wiring apart again did you follow the correct BSI shut down and reboot procedure? f you haven't then you may have actually triggered the air bag warning in the process of disconnecting. Anyway, try a BSI reset before you start delving into anything else.
