2009 Berlingo cigarette lighter socket wiring

Hi.  I have a 2009 reg Citreon Berlingo. 
I have a non working cigarette lighter.  Tried fuse etc.  On removal of the old one,  the wiring to it was a green and yellow,  and a white one.  Both into a wire connector.  My new socket has  black and red wire.  Which goes to which please and thanks for any answers.

White is used as a feed on some things in the Berlingos. and green and yellow as earth.

Haven't you got a meter that you can test it with,?

The red and black are usually, red = + positive or live , and black = - negative or earth.

Are you sure you know what your doing ?
