Trip + Clock Help
#1
Hello,

First time poster, recently purchased a Berlingo B9 2009 XTR 1.6 HDI.

It had a large top screen (top of dash) which wasn’t working, instead it has an apple carplay double fin unit.

I now want to replace the top screen with the normal orange screen so I can change it from km to miles & get stuff like parking sensors working again.

What is the best way to do this? I have 2 connectors, 1 large silver one & 1 8 pin orange/brown. Neither looks like the type b or type c on eBay.

Has anyone converted the large screen to a the stock one?

Thanks

If the original head unit [in a 2009 XTR it would have been a single DIN unit] has been replaced, then that causes all sorts of problems with regard to getting an original orange type MFD [Multi-Function Display] working as the original head unit was part of the control for that screen. There is a work around using a 'connects-2' type interface unit that restores some of the MFD functions [but not all I seem to remember from threads on the forum] via the steering wheel controls.

Thanks.

Can an ‘orange’ MFD be fitted to the same brown connector of the large upper touch screen bit?

I can then buy a connect-2 to see what I can do with it.

I'm not sure what the large 'upper screen bit' is that you are referring to? It may have been something else that has been retro-fitted to your Berlingo, it doesn't sound like and original screen fitment. Can you post an image of the 'upper screen' as fitted to your vehicle?

I would expect so, given the connector physically fits. At least those simple EMF-A displays should be very cheap to buy just for trial.

(Sidenote, for some reason my 2015 has two brown connectors under the upper display. One connects to EMF, other one was unconnected. Maybe I should check the schematics which I have.)

About large upper display, are you referring to Citroën original navigation system, maybe called RNEG? Here is a example of it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363607949013
