2012 1.6hdi Won't start!
#1
Bought the vehicle cheap as it wasn't starting. Has had new battery, glow plugs and glow plug relay but still no joy.
Code reader read P1349 that wouldn't clear. Changed rhe fuel sender unit in rhe tank and still no joy.
I then found a 70a bubble fuse that had blown on the top of the battery, which I have replaced and cleared the code, but still wouldn't start!
Fuel seems to be getting through to the pump and at rhe injectors, I've now checked to see if there is power at the fuel solenoid on the high pressure pump and it seems to be vibrating and I've measured around 9v. I have split the cable and run an additional earth to negative a now im getting 12v and can hear the solenoid click in but now its throwing another error code up!
This code is now P0003 which won't clear unless I remove the additional ground cable.

I have primed the fuel several times and used a full tin of easy start but still nothing.

I'm really at a loss now and can't think what the problem could be. If anyone could shed any light on this I'd really appreciate it.

What are you reading the fault codes with? If it is a generic OBD reader it won't work properly on any PSA group vehicles you really need diagbox, or at the very least on a B9 model a RED OBD scanner [search the threads for RED OBD]

One thing that I haven't seen you mention, after the battery change was a BSI reset carried out?

Have you read the fuel pressure with the scanner? If the pressure is not high enough, it won’t even try.

It's been read on a citroen/peugeot scanning tool as well as a snap on and a cheap europarts one.

All saying no codes which leads me to believe it's mechanical.

I have tried the bsi reset but the key buttons aren't working. I have checked the immobiliser status with the reader when ignition was on and it says its off.

I have tried removing the pump but there's one bolt I really can't get to. Looks like I have have to drop the whole subframe to get to it  absolute s**t place to get to!

If the easy start didn't do anything,
are you getting four even compressions if you turn the engine over with a socket?

If the cam belt has let go previously, the last owner not seeing any broken valves might have stuck a new belt on.
The reason the valves didn't break is because the cams can slip around their shafts as they are pressed on.
This causes the valve timing to be messed up.
Not likely, but who knows.

Did you get error codes read with Lexia?
Missing a cam or crank sensor signal will also prevent play.

Good luck.
