As title really, went to test drive a 2003 CITROEN BERLINGO FIRST TD X 75, 1560CC DIESEL, MANUAL, VAN. When trying to select gears it was really stiff trying to select gears. There was no abnormal noises and could be driven, but its not right.
Has anybody had this problem before and know what i should be looking at to get it sorted?
Thanks

I think Husqyman posted a thread might be helpful. Try search for "stiff change"

It could be worn linkage, that's the first thing that I would check for.

Could be a seized up or rusty linkage, some penetrating oil followed by a good dollop of copperslip around the linkages. I had a similar fault on my old Pug 306 which has the same set up.

Have you a lot of play at the gear lever?
If so change both the front short linkages, costs about 30 euro. And give where it drops from the lever a squeeze to take out freeplay.
I always change the gearbox oil when I get a new car or van because chances are its.never been done before
