When using the correct diagnostic equipment for PSA group vehicles, even if there is no comms you usually get a code for what unit is not responding.

Yeah thats what I thought too... I do have a Lexia Diag box somewhere, it is one of the knock off Ebay ones... I am not sure if it will Diagnose this model of Berlingo But I will give it a go.

I have found a fuse box on ebay for £45, the double relay that @shtu had problems with for £20 and a the same model of ABS unit for £60.

Push come to shove I can replace all three of them one at a time and see if the problem resolves itself.

That reads as a perfectly reasonable diagnosis sequence, it covers many of the steps suggested. Bit of a shame that wasn't in the first post.

It's worth going through the fuse box cleaning the fuse legs even if there no problems anyway.
Surface corrosion of a fuse connector was the cause of the horn not working on my van.
The fusebox lid is always securely in place and the vehicle is not subjected to a mechanical carwash or pressure washer.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

They only just emailed me this yesterday unfortunately so I do apologise.

No probs. If I'd done all they say there, I'd be blaming the ABS module too.

Hi Folks here is my update:

after being quoted £1000 for a new ABS fitted by one garage and another wanting £200 just to look at my car I finally found a guy who knew his stuff.

Big shout out to James Garner at "The Midlands Mechanic" found here:

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61563913172624

After asking around on a few Facebook forums James popped up and asked me if my car was doing certain specific things and he basically Diagnosed the issue over a Facebook message. I drove down to him and he swapped out the Computer part on the ABS module for a different one and hooked the car up to his PC. He had it fixed within an hour and a half and charged me very little. I cannot recommend his services enough.
