Admittedly my fault was in a B9 Berlingo [2008] but your electrical issues sound very similar to mine [I had random headlights and wipers operating with engine turned off as well as numerous random warnings appearing] This sounds very much like a fault that affects many PSA group vehicles. I would start by checking your engine bay fuse box that is next to the battery. It is not only a fuse box but also has some electronics that communicate with the BSI and these are prone to water damage. If your scuttle drains [at the ends of the area underneath the wipers] get blocked then water cannot drain out and ends up pouring onto the engine bay fuse/electronics causing all sorts of problems.

I would definitely start there. After turning vehicle off, wait the required time for all systems to go into 'sleep mode' the disconnect the battery and have a look at all the fuses in the engine bay fuse box by pulling out each one in turn and checking for any corrosion on the legs of the fuse as this is a 'tell-tale' sign of water damage. If any show signs of corrosion you can try cleaning up the legs and the slots they plug into with electrical contact cleaner to see if that helps but unfortunately if water has got into the fuse box electronics often the only remedy is to replace the whole fuse box.

If you do go down that road, they are not too expensive to source a used one. I got mine via a breakers [on Ebay] for less than £40 delivered. Make sure if you do get one thought that it is EXACTLY the same part number as they are used in a number of different PSA group vehicles and are not interchangeable.

One bit of good news is that they are 'plug and play' in that no programming/coding is required after replacement.
