What does a service consist of ?
#1
Question
Well, where do I start.

My Citroen dealer, is not Citroen, it's a franchise from Citroen, in fact I can't find an actual Citroen garage in the UK  (perhaps someone knows differently).

What does the service consist of?
It depends where you look.
- Haynes and other manuals:  give a list of things to be changed and things to be done.
- My dealer just says:  annual service plus.
- Citoroen says:  Systematic Operations.

I contacted Citroen Customer Care to ask what Systematic Operations means:
Change Oil filter
Change Cylinder housing plug seal
Check all liquids and top-up or change if necessary
Check security/tightness/operation of various components

So I ased if the oil shoould be changed.
They said only if the dealer thinks so.
After a lot of discussion, Citroen say that the changing of any fluids is down to the dealer, as they can test them to see if they need changing (Really ?), and that Citroen don't stipulate what should, or shouldn't be changed.

Basically, Citroen don't control, or stipulate the maintenance, it's your local dealer that is responsible for everything, except when you ask them if the xyz needs changing in the price of the service, when it's a, "no, Citroen say that's an extra"

I've paid in advance for 2 normal, and 1 major service when I bought the car.  If there's no such thing as different services, I wonder what I will get for the major one.

Completely fed up with this "buck passing", and "no responsibility taken" attitude.  I'm assuming it's because they don't believe in their products.

My long-standing,hard-earned opinion is that (apart from a very small minority of honest individuals who spoil it for the rest )the whole motor industry, from manufacturer right the way down to the scrap yard are a bunch of cxxxx
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Unfortunately, I agree.
They don't do themselves any favours, and have had, and continue to have, a bad reputation for being "shady car salesmen"
I do not trust anything they say, and have to check everthing for myself, over and over again.
It just makes life hard.

I agree, once your 3 year Citroen warranty runs out they do not care.
It doesn’t matter if your car has perfect main dealer service history, if you have an issue 3 years and 1 day old, they will not help.

Toyota 10 year warranty
Suzuki 7 year warranty
MG 7 year warranty
Kia 7 year warranty

They are manufacturers who back there products.

If you need a new Berlingo buy the Toyota ProAce City Verso electric version.
Yes, it’s the same vehicle as the Berlingo but Toyota will cover you for 10 years.
