This was weird - we were at Croome on Sunday afternoon which was hit by a sharp thunderstorm. The wife and I just got back to the car when the heavens opened, lightning, hailstones, sheets of heavy rain real end of time's stuff AND no engine start, no instruments movement, and no binnacle lighting just 'Key fob not present' display in rectangular driver information display.
Tried the wife's spare key same result even with mine outside the car. Same thing. Resorted to checking for what to do online, lots of ideas but none worked. Dismayed I concluded immobilizer failure and breakdown recovery only choice with hours wait.
The storm passed almost as quick as its arrival and the air was blue (inside the car not outside) gave it one last go.
Then all of a sudden everything worked as normal.
Anyone got an explanation or experienced this?
