M59 Lift Kit
#1
Hi, first time poster, recently new Berlingo M59 owner - 2007 1.4L Petrol.

Looking to see if anyone has any advice on options and installing a 30mm front lift kit - we are thinking a 30mm strut spacer basically.
Using the Berlingo in an off-road charity "rally" run (Its a make it from Point A to Point B, not speed based - the 1.4L ain't so good at speed) and need a little more ground clearance for corriguated dirt roads etc in Aus - yes, this little beauty will be tackle some of Australia's worst roads Smile

Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Johno

I had some interest a while back in this but never followed up.
There is a German outfit called Spaccer that has an easy fit design that is modular, allowing configuration up to 48mm
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Thanks Evdama, quite a bit more $$$ than I was wanting to spend.
There are some very cheap option on eBay that are just a solid piece that goes ontop of the spring.

You can fit Peugeot Escapade (also called a Peugeot Ranch in Europe) shocks and springs, these give +30mm increase in travel over a standard Berlingo setup.

The lift kits you mentioned sit on top of the strut bearing so give a body lift but no actual increase in shock absorber stroke/travel. The Spaccer mentioned above are a bad idea as they sit under the spring itself so only add to the preload of the spring.

The Escapade also has a large steel sump guard, fuel line covers, and light guards for 'offroading'.

My Escapade has lovely and soft wafty suspension and would happily do the Canning Stock Route.......(possibly)

I think mine is an Escapade, possibly, maybe who knows.
But it definitely is high enough.
Perhaps you could choose to fit a rebuilt escapade rear beam
when your rear beam gives up,
then do the fronts.

I ended up finding a 30mm cheap lift kit on eBay from Ukraine. Simple "blocks" that go on top of the springs. Should be interesting...

Note that a Dangel is equipped with spacers between the body and subframe, plus a small extension rod to cover the distance to the steeringhouse. This is for a reason of course. Also the camber will be influenced when not adding spacers between body & subframe. I guess it's possible without and you will probably not notice odd behaviour when your offroad, but your driveshaft will be alligned when adding spacers between body & subframe. Look up for info or google 'rehausse peugeot' and you will find so called 'cales' or have a look here
Different car of course, but same principle
