[Engine] DPF in 2008 Multispace?

Hi, I’m a complete newcomer to the world of Berlingo. Can someone tell me whether the 2008 Multispace 1.6 diesel has a diesel particulate filter? My last diesel vehicle was a 2008 Ford Focus, which just pre-dated the regs and didn’t have a DPF. Is it the same with the Berlingo, or is it something I must bear in mind - I mostly drive locally, but should I have a long thrash up the dual carriageway now and again?

Nope, the DPF only went into the Berlingo in 2010. You have a good choice with a 2008 1.6Hdi as no DPF, Eolys fluid or ADBlue to worry about. Just make sure to to carry out regular oil changes. If you are not doing many miles, I would still change it at least once  a year even if you are nowhere near the 12500 mile service limit. Oil and filters for the Berlingo are relatively cheap and if you don't want to muck around underneath the vehicle changing oil, get one of those suction pumps that suck out the old oil through the dipstick. I notice my local German discount store [LIDL] is currently selling them at about £15.

Many thanks. That's good news. Yes I'm pretty keen on decent oil and regular changes. Years of motorbike maintenance..
