Hi - I have a 96 Berlingo. A potential problem has arisen with the van and i just wondered if it is any cause for concern. On ignition it 'chugs/coughs' for a second or two and then starts, immiting a cloud of white smoke. What are the possible causes and should i be concerned of any underlying fault that may worsen? Thanks

Is it smoke or steam? Just wondering if there could be a start of a leaking head gasket alowing water into the cylinders whilst at rest overnight.
