e-berlingo range experiances flip down seats
#1
I'm curious as to e-berlingo owners range experiences on 80 to 160 mile trips? Some reviewers say 70miles on a cold days surely can't be that bad?

I use my current non-ulez berlingo diesel manual for load lugging around London so electric appeals as they are automatic and quite. The flip side is I'll use it to go mountain biking while not far to my local spot are about 50ish mile round trip the odd 160mile round trip if I fancy a change of scenery. I don't fancy low on charge in the boonies or risk leaving my bikes unattended while getting a top up charge. Again not having a clutch is nice for motorway driving

I guess my choice should be an auto diesel euro 6, but they seem rare and I recall people not liking the auto boxes. Plus my worry is they'll move the ulez goal post again in a few years (after it was expanded to my area when they said they wouldn't) negating the benefit of changing it.

My other question is; the flip down seats they don't look like they lock into the down position and is there a tie down point some where in the the rear passenger footwell/seat area? I ask because in my B9 with the middle seat out I can attach straps to its forward mounting point to secure my bike.

Thanks in advance

I would never attempt 160 miles without a charge: It would probably do it in the summertime if I kept my speed down, but range anxiety and boredom would ruin my day: I would find somewhere convenient for a charge, and if you repeat the journey, you will know where to charge on the next occasion.
The back seats don’t lock down, and there are no tie down points in the footwell/seat area.
My response sounds negative, but the e-Berlingo is an absolute pleasure to drive: Smooth, quiet and comfortable, and feeling quick for the type of vehicle it is.

Thanks for the response does the sat nav do the smart working out (I read that some plan stops on how best to charge, if there's chargers available etc) or at least flag recharge points on route? How have you found charging availability on longer journeys, not having had an ev the whole process is alien to me. If you read the articles about it, they make it seem like all the chargers are broken or there's queues onto the slip roads to use them (but they wont generate many clicks for "everything is going fine" Rolleyes) .

I see the next gen berlingo coming sept/24 has 220 stated range I might try to string mine out another year and see where used prices are on those. Because I really do like the idea of electric seems like less to go wrong and nicer driving experience.

My current K9 is ULEZ compliant and with the autobox, its a dream to drive. Might be worth looking into a used one of those
