Eat8 servicing ?
#1
Does anyone know what the servicing schedule is for the Eat8 gearbox?
I know Citroen(like Bmw) will likely say “sealed for life” but nevertheless it does need doing, at least an oil change.

Also does anyone have experience of doing this themselves ?

Full flush at 50k miles the latest.

Ignore all "lifetime" and "sealed" talks.

Presume what you mean by full flush is drain, fill and repeat twice Boop ?

Is it easy enough to do ?

Full flush is usually considered drain and fill thrice, drive between. This would replace pretty much all fluid including the one left in the torque converter.

I have not done it myself in a Berlingo, had a specialist garage do it (machine flush).

I thought general rule of thumb was you never flush an auto gearbox? I may be wrong as it may be related to marine transmissions that I am thinking of, but i was sure i read something somewhere that you just drain and refill so as not to "shock" the gears?

Comes from the era of power flush machines that forced fresh fluid through the transmission possibly causing dislodged dirt clogging stuff.

New flushing machines don't have that issue as they just sit in the cooling line catching old fluid and replacing it with fresh feed, pumped by the transmission itself. There is no pressure difference or shocks of any kind. Perfectly safe.

I had no idea a flushing machine was used, any recommendations as to a trusted specialist preferably in the West London area ?
