Ply thickness for narrow bed
#1
I'm making a single bed 80 cms wide. It will be reinforced along the length with 2x4" planks ( fitted underneath so the bed rests on the 2" side)

I've bought  and cut 9mm ply but now concerned i should have got the 12mm. Would i get away with this thickness given it's quite narrow?

You should be okay, mine was 9mm with lots of cut-outs to lighten it,  but where the hips shoulder went as above strengthen it, 14st my weight so not light, but it did only bend the wood, wish I had kept it, as a boot jump firm made it.

I checked it, just a minute ago and mine is 2 plates of triplex wood. I measured 9 mm thick, moving n top of each other to make the bed broader (80 cm). My weight is 65 kg, and to be honest I think it can handle 100+ kg, who knows much more?

I would choose for 9 mm plywood

I stood on it and it bent more than i expected. I guess with mattress on top of would be fine but to be sure i got another  sheet of 12mm and got someone to cut it down for me. I'll use the 9mm for furniture or maybe a drawer.
Thanks
