Here's a new one.
Scanning the van for faults the other day (I need to remove the egr blank I installed while getting to the bottom of the injector faults), The BSI came up with an unusual error that wouldn't clear,
F40A
Oil Gauge Fault
From - Local
Characteristation of the fault - Not Characterised.
Delving into the live data for the BSI with the engine running, everything looked OK apart from,
Measured oil level - Value invalid.
This fault would make you think that the issue is the level\temperature sensor at the back of the block, and it may well be.
But not always. In my case, the fault was shown because when the engine was started, the oil was warm.
Leave it until it was cold, start up, and the so-called "fault" has cleared by itself.
Top work Citroen.
