Dip stick notches?

Can somebody tell me what the notches mean on the dip stick?  Birlingo 2024 1500., 
I've just done an oil change and it's showing on the 5th notch up, is each notch a ltr of oil ?

I count 15 notches, so probably not a litre each.

I'd add a little more, I prefer to run at the maximum mark.

I doubt the markings are of any particular significance being more of a indication of relative oil levels.

I'd add some more oil to get to top level.
