Reinstalled original radio and now doesn't work
#1
Hi all. I've tried searching on here, Google and flicked through the owners manual and haven't managed to come up with anything so thought I'd ask for expert help on here if anyone can give me any pointers please.

I have a 2011 1.6 HDi Berlingo and a few years ago I removed the stock head unit and put in an aftermarket unit and wired up an amp, sub and two 6x9's which worked great. Two days ago I took everything out and put it back to stock. I did this with the battery disconnected. At the same time I removed a remapped ECU I'd installed and put the original back in. Once I'd removed all of the cables and speakers etc I plugged the original head unit back in as it was previous to my own install. I then reconnected the battery and the head unit appears to be doing nothing. The date etc is still flashing on the LCD display above and no amount of pressing and holding buttons etc on both the head unit or the stalk control on the side of the steering column appears to be doing anything. I've tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting again 20 minutes later but no change.

Does anyone have an ideas please as I'm stumped currently.

Thanks.

When you removed the stock unit and fitted the aftermarket unit, did you also fit the 'converter kit' so you could still alter the time/date etc on the central multi function display on the vehicle and also be able to alter volume etc from the steering controls? If you did fit one of these, it needs to be removed when you refit the original head unit?

The only thing I can think off, off the to of my head, although why it wouldn't reset after disconnecting the battery is strange, is to go through the full BSI rest procedure? It's got to be worth a try?

Assuming it's the common RD4 unit, there's a fuse on the back of the head unit. Check that.
