Rear view mirror cover plastic removal

I’d like to remove the plastics around the rear view mirror for a project, any ideas on how to do this?

It will be opa push on construction, so I’m assuming you will need to pry it off but might break one of the holding clips

You are spot on, attack the middle with something screwdriver like and it pops into two pieces, then slides apart

I’ve mounted an CarPlay screen up there, will do a fresh thread on that

If you are not sure how to dismantle any interior trim look for the part on ebay. There are usually photos of the back of the component so you can work out which way to pull or push - such as the attached. Careful removing the mirror cover there are quite a lot of electronics behind it.
