fuel pressure sensor melted!!
#1
I have a 57 1.6HDi van. the egr valve base dropped out and the exhaust gas melted the end of the fuel prssure sensor and plug.
I have put in another fuel pressure sensor, soldered a new plug on and fitted another egr valve but it wont start. it is in moda eco will this stop it running? does the ecu need to be cleared?

Are all HDI fuel pressure sensors the same?

The eco mode just shuts accesories down after 15 mins to prevent a flat battery.
I can't help re the egr but someone will come on & put you right.

Engine code Part No

DV6ETEDM (75) 1920TK
DV6ATED4 (92) 1920GW
DV6DTEDM (92) 1920TK

I don't know what the differences, either physical or in operation, are between these.

Hi, if the plug has shorted out or to earth with it melting it's probably blown a fuse. Check all engine bay & BSI fuses.
Do a BSI shut down before you do this then do a proper start up after.
If you can PM me your Vin No. I'll check the right part for you and have a read of your drawings for your van.

bought a diagbox from easydiagnostics and am going to run the tests today so will update you all later. Jim at easydiagnostics was 100% brilliant. We had some problems loading it due to my computer. Jim spent hours working remotely to sort it out he was fantastic. I would recommend anyone thinking of getting some diagnostic equipment to go to him. it was a few quid more but it arrived next day and the aftersales service more than made up for that 100 times over. cant fault it in any way. just hope it can identify the problem.
so anyone in wiltshire or near to SN9 that needs a test i'm the man to contact.
