Rev Hanging on 2008 1.6 BERLINGO 625 LX HDI 90 (L1)
#1
Hi Guys,

I just bought one of these on ebay really cheap, have fixed all issues apart from one... rev Hanging... basically at idle and whilst driving if you tap the accelerator for example to say 2k rpm take your foot off the pedal the revs will raise to around 3k hang for a second then drop down to idle... also does it whilst driving and makes it impossible...

There are no codes on a diagnostic machine under any modules. Actuator test on the egr opens and closes it as it should... may sensor unplug no change, air douser unplugged/cleaned no change...

Is there anything else that can be tried??? The van is mint condition but on 130k thanks for any help or advice!

Start with the simple stuff - check the pedal opening data matches what's actually happening to the pedal.

Pedal is working perfect according to diag, it's also been replaced by previous owner by the looks of things, also stripped for a service today and glow plugs and the egr has been replaced aswell as its new (for good measure i also ran the new egr adaptation just in case) still remains the same... wondering if it may be an ecu issue?

Update - I have replaced the Throttle body/Air Douser and coded it in... no change car is exactly as it was before changing... I have also sent the ECU off to ECU Testing who have tested the ECU and found no faults... is there anything else anyone can think of trying at all?

Engines require two things to run - air and fuel. If it's running faster than expected, there's more getting in than expected.

I'd be looking for air leaks, and examining live data across air and fuel circuits.

its not running faster than expected i don't think its just hanging hard to explain over text but press the pedal to halfway, revs will stay there, second your foot comes off the pedal the revs raise slightly hang there for a second or 2 then drop. There are no leaks on a smoke test but will check the fuel and the air data Smile
