Power to Kenwood headunit and Connect2 patch lead
#1
Hi,

I've been searching through for an answer and found people with similar problems but not quite...

I've replaced the radio HU with a KDC-BT560DAB and got the CANBUS adaptor wotsit and patch lead. All works great but I can't turn the radio on without the ignition on. Not a massive problem but it would be nice to be able to listen to it while waiting in the van for stuff (kids clubs, ferries, etc). I know the "economy mode" would kick in but can live with that.

My ignition switch only seems to have on and off, no position 1 for accessories and 2 for ignition. So, I must have the key in and ignition on or the engine running.

Have anyone come across this and found a solution? Changes to the wiring harness for the radio? I've thought about wiring in permanent 12v from the fusebox but obviously worried about flattening the battery if the radio is left on.

Cheers.

I have added permanent +12V from fusebox via toggle switch. Normally it is conveniently fed via the original wiring, but in case I want to listen to radio for extended period, I flip the switch and now Citroën has no way of shutting down my radio. Sure it can flatten the battery if I leave the radio on for days.

Great. I think this is the way I'm going to go.
