Retrofitting Air Conditioning
#1
I have a b9 berlingo and I am interested in retrofitting aircon. I don’t mind the labour side of things have done plenty of dash removals throughout the years but what I am interesting in knowing is if it’s a plug and play job? I haven’t looked yet to see if there is existing plugs for air con hp switch and control panel but if there is should all work as it should or will I need the ecu from the donor van. Thanks guys, any input from members who have hands on knowledge of this would be gratefully appreciated.

Nobody's likely to have already done it, because there's an immense amount of work there.

You're missing compressor, condensor, evaporator, all the flexi and hard pipework, all bracketry, the wiring is unlikely to be present, there's different switchgear internally, likely coding the car to tell it AC is present, and so on and so on.

Good luck to you if you decide to try. Smile

Probably an engine-out job to fit all the pipework plus it has to be leak-free and spotlessly clean. Not to mention the cost when you add in all the clips warning stickers plus a new wiring loom.

So short answer do not try this at home.
