Van or Multispace type vehicle? I had some of the panels off the inside of my B9 Multispace to add in some extra power/ charging sockets for when we were using it for camping/touring and all the wiring appeared to be inside of the vehicle. I also did quite a bit of work outside the vehicle over the years [rear and front discs, suspension, wheel bearings, ABS etc] and I'm pretty sure there wasn't any wiring that disappeared into the sills anywhere]

As I stated that was on a Multispace, a van may be different but the vans tend to have less wiring, so I very much doubt anything would need to run in the sills.
