XUD in Partner head gasket leak
#1
Hey all,

So i pulled the dw8 out of my partner and dropped in an xud td out of a zx . All was well untill yesterday when a big patch of oil appeared on the drive. further investigation seemed to suggest the cam shaft seal so i changed it last night. run it up and the leak is worse, a lot of head scratching and internet searches later i decided to rip her to bits thinking head gasket , the little o ring in the head gasket that seals the oil supply gallery to the head has perished and oil was pissing out of the side if the head at the back of the fuel injection pump. Other than the leak all was fine . The engine has 180k on it so well used.
Anyway my question is anyone out there got any ideas on some mods to make her go any better once shes back together , she was allready running 18psi boost and fuel and boost compensator turned up accordingly. I plan on replacing as much as possible within reason while shes in bits, head rebuild , sump off piston rings big end bearings and main bearings oil pump , all the gaskets and seals. Will probably replace the turbo as well whats good to go for in the turbo department. Anyone out there done owt like this before. Could do with some inspiration , and some time and money but will settle for the inspiration.
I have heard of these xud motors runnning 150bhp , that sounds a bit much but i might be wrong.
Thanks in advance.
