Hi everyone!

Hi everyone!

I am a proud new owner of a 2004 Berlingo Multispace Desire 1.9D, so just though I'd say hi to everyone!

I live in a little village on the outskirts on Doncaster, South Yorkshire with my partner Rachel and our 9 year old white boxer dog called Alice.

We needed something to use as a car but also to cart our boxer dog in! I have recently passed my test (just before my 30th Birthday in July!) and so I am just getting used to driving it at the moment.

Any tips or nuggets of info / best places to go to i.e garages, best bits to buy e.g window blinds, any side window grills or dog guards? etc are much appreciated.

Happy driving guys and girls!

Kath

Hi Kath, and welcome. Until recently we had a 2002 1.9 diesel - brilliant car, we gave to a niece with 130,00 on the clock and absolutely no probs ( except sticky sliding door - which we all have), hope yours is a winner

My choc labrador waves a paw to Alice
Can't help you with dog guards 'cos my lingo is a van , the hound grabs his lead jumps in the back panting like a loonie " take me somewhere " Confusedillyme:
The carpet in the back is brown so muck and brook don't show up too bad , can the same be said of Alice  Confusedalut:
Hope you have trouble free motoring with the 1.9D Confusedalut:

Hello Kath,

I have a 1.9 Diesel too & I love it. All the doubters who advised me agaist it are now slightly envious when they realise how useful it is! I get comments like "Oh... it actually looks better than i thought" & "you can nearly stand up in the back"  Loads of people told me it wouldnt go up hills. i live in the Pennines & can tell you it does!

I put my dog in the boot space, using a harness (like the seatbelt ones from Argos) you can clip it to the metal ring on the floor of the boot space, short enough that they cant jump over. Or if they dont mind travelling backwards, secure the harness to the rear headrest so that the dog is back to back with the rear seat. I thought about a dog guard but I had one in my car & found it a bit of a pain, also you have to store it when you don't want to use it. I'd look on ebay for one of those.

Happy motoring
