Anyone know what this bracket is for??
#1
I had to do a head gasket replacement on a 04' 2.0 hdi, during late stage reassembly i noticed i had this bracket left over.
I've been trying to figure out the proper location the last few hours without luck.
Anyone know what this is for or where it is located??
thanks

Reminds me of a similar bracket on my old 1999 model with 1.4i
It was mounted somewhere either on top of he gearbox, or on the side of the engine facing the gearbox, and was there to anchor the wiring loom.
Never could found out exactly how it fitted back in...

And of course, the moral of this story is that when doing any job that requires disassembly of numerous components [not only on cars but any item you might be stripping down to service/repair] is to take numerous images with your camera phone or a digital camera, to help you correctly put things back and not be left with some left over components at the end of the job  Wink
