Hi all, just joined after reading great post on changing the fuel filter, in fact did the full service no problems at all, quids in.
My car is 53reg 2.0HDi desire. 75000mls. Had it since Nov 2010
What do you get MPG? the best I can get is 43mpg no matter how kind I am with my right foot.
The car starts and runs spot on, smooth, pulls great and no smoke.
It only did 38mpg when I got it, this improve with a can of diesel addertive.

Hi and welcome. It is interesting to read your comments about mpg. My 1.6 petrol averages 28-30 when in town/commuting/late for work up to 35-38 on a gentle run. I have been thinking about whether it is worth changing to a diesel.

Hi and welcome. What kind of gallons are you referencing? Imperial or US type. My HDi 110 averages 6.2l/100km on mostly country lanes and city.

I was referring to UK (Imperial). My figures in metric equate to 10.1-9.4 l/100km for the short/quicker driving. Up to 8.1-7.4 on a more gentle run
Your 6.2 l/100lm is 46mpg (UK Imp)
I used this quick

Thanks for the link. Wasn't sure if Imperial gallons were still used. Used to be fun mixing gas for the outboard motors when I went fishing in Canada. Imperial gallons and US pints. Real nightmare. Easier now that they are metric.
