Please be kind! lol

I have an Abs fault on my 2013 Berlingo

Does anyone local to me have a suitable reader to interrogate it nearby?

I'm Coalville Leicestershire

Happy to come to you to see if there's anything can be done. had a rear abs ring changed by garage but fault remained.
Garage were talking about changing the abs controller

Any advice welcome

Nowhere near, but absolutely get the codes out of it before spending any money on parts.

Recent thread on here was a garage suggesting a new ABS unit, when the fault was a wheel sensor.

If you paid a garage for some work to be done [changing the rear ABS ring] and it didn't cure the issue, I would ask them for a copy of the fault codes they had that pointed them to change the rear ABS ring?

If you know what wheel it was they changed the ring on, there are a couple of things to check.

1. The actual ABS sensor, it may be that the sensor is fine but the sensors on the Berlingo are a bit naff in that they have one small torx screw holding it in a small recess in the hub and the sensor has a plastic body, so that if you get a rust build up under the sensor [which is common] it can 'flex' the plastic body of the sensor just enough to take it too far from the ABS ring, so that the sensor doesn't sense it and you get an ABS fault light. The cure is to remove the sensor and scrape the recess out with a small screwdriver, so the sensor sits as close as possible to the ABS ring.

2. If the above  is all okay then the next thing to look for on the rear wheel is broken wires. There have been reports of broken wires to the sensors in the conduit that runs along the back axle, it mat require you to unclip some of the conduit and peel it back to check the wires inside.

If after you've checked all this and nothing found, then you will need a diagnostic done again to see what faults are being thrown up.

Coincidentally, I made use of this Top Tip today, as I had a wheel sensor fault on the front.

Single t30 torx to remove, and while the housing in the hub didn't -look- bad, a hammer and chisel broke out a layer of scaly rust.

Thanks for the replies

i think The garage changed the wheel ring and it didn't solve the issue
they i think then belled out the sensor cabling and it was ok .
i didn't get any codes and i doubt they will have kept any record of it but said i would probably need a new abs control unit
I wanted to see if if i could get a code to see what the actual issue was so i could look before spending any more
I will try the top tip when i can get under it
It would have been useful to see what the codes were if there was someone who could do that

Quite a few of us bought one of these
They read Citroen /Pugs and with the forum discount were very well priced
They're not perfect for everyone but mines proven useful and has also twice diagnosed a Zafira

https://www.obd.red/

Things seem to have gone South with the website and you may not be able to get one anymore
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top
