Opening the tailgate window
#1
I was pleased to see this option, the problem is that I can't, consistently, get it to work. There's probably some special combination of keypresses that I need to do but I've not worked it out. I realise it won't open if the tailgate is unlatched.

There are three buttons on the remote control and it's obviously got to do with the bottom two. Press and Hold? Press while car unlocked? One chance only? I have a vague theory that once it's unlocked, you can't repeat the process. i.e. On the occasion I've heard the satisfying click as it's unlocked, I've re-closed it, then not been able to repeat the process.  I've tried relocking the car and unlocking again but that doesn't work.

It's possibly not working properly. I've just tried again. Long press and hold on each button. Each time it unlatches the entire tailgate. And if I re-close the tailgate then it's locked again. And yes, I know there are two release bits for my hand - the one in the middle is for the tailgate if I have it right, and the one to the right is for the window. If it wasn't for the fact that it has worked I'd swear there was a fault.

Is there some secret formula I'm missing?

Don’t think you can open the window in the tailgate from the remote (assuming that’s what you’re trying to do).

Yes I'm trying to open it using the remote, but I'd be happy with being able to open it at all. I found that diagram too and it took me a while to work out what I was meant to be looking at, but I realise it's a bottom view of the tailgate buttons. The one in the photo (red triangle) should open the window only. If it wasn't for the fact that once or twice it has DEFINITELY WORKED I'd be assuming that it wouldn't do it. I'm spending lots of time trying to reproduce whatever it was I did to manage to unlatch the window only. Whatever I try unlatches the entire tailgate and I can't work out how to just unlock/unlatch the window only.

I'm not sure what it means by 'keyless entry' system, except I'm pretty sure that I don't have that. I need the key to start the car and the pictures I've seen that show unlocking the car with the key present but just your hand round the handle doesn't work. I've seen this on other vehicles but pretty certain I don't have that.

Question - what happens if you lock up the car for some time, like you've done a bit of grocery shopping, return and from the rear of the car press the middle button on your key fob - no idea if you'd hear anything but anyway, after doing that, press and hold for a second or two the far right button as per the handbook diagram.
If that works you owe me a pint. If not, then it is clear I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.

I think I owe you a pint. TLDR: User Error.

I had been thinking along the same lines as you but it hadn't worked. But prompted by your post I went outside and tried again. No joy. As I was sitting in the driving seat trying to sort out my favourites (it does insist on FM although I'm trying to save as DAB - but sorted that now) I popped out and had another try. And it worked. Bizarre. So, did it need the keys in the ignition to make the window open? Surely not, that would be very strange behaviour. But this is Citroen. So I tried to repeat the process and it did not work. Stranger and stranger.

Anyway, enough waffle. Ordinarily I wouldn't post such an exemplary example of user error but on the off chance someone else's web search brings them here I shall share my shame and take this one for the team.

Here it is: The mechanism that releases the latch in the door - i.e. the buttons that you posted the diagram for - DO NOT operate as I assumed. By that I mean, they DO NOT act as a lever. You DO NOT place your fingers under the latch bit and PULL, you put your fingers under the latch bit and PRESS UP - to the SKY. This may seem very very obvious but I have never had a boot that had controls that worked this way. I always pulled the door outward towards myself and it would then swing up. But it's not a latch, it's a button. And the button is activated by pressing upwards, not by pulling outwards. Clearly the erratic previous successes had just been flukes where I'd inadvertently pressed the button while trying to pull.

Every day's a school day ...

Somebody who is famous (in his house at the most) once above said, ".....press... ".
Anyway, glad you got it sorted.
To be honest, the first time I wanted to open the boot I inadvertently pressed the correct button when I was feeling round for something to grab. It was an aha! moment.
