Did an oil change yesterday but this isn't the old oil.
New rear brake pads fitted too.
Decided to change the fluid whilst I was there.
I haven't done it before on this car and it was "Main Dealer Serviced" for the first six years so it fairly safe to say this stuff is twelve years old.
The new fluid can't even be seen through the reservoir it's so transparent.
I was looking at a more advanced bleeding tool -a push or pull one perhaps but unless you are willing to remortage then what is on offer is complicated and according to reviews, not much good.
Instead I bought a Visibleed for four quid off Amazon
So simple and it worked a treat.
The rear end took just under a litre before it bled clean so the front end is postponed while I wait for more fluid to arrive and the new pads to bed in.
I had cleaned and lubed the caliper pins 6 months ago and took the chance to see how they were doing.
One pin on each side was dry so they all got redone.
Well worth checking.
It's two years since I put new disks on the front so I think the front end brakes will be due a checkup
It is on my to do list.
