Fuel filter renewal 2.0HDi
#1
Just wonder what the advised interval is for the fuel filter on a HDi 2.0.
Just done mine today after 2 years and 15k and it was dirty as hell!

On another note, on my car a 2.0 Fiesta petrol, Ford state 40k or 4 years, so what a surprise when i thought i'd swap this one as well. Disconnected the old one, tipped the petrol out and it was black. No wonder its been running rough lately.

Think i'll start doing fuel filter along with my year oil changes too now.

I change my fuel filter every time the oil gets changed, every 6 months or 5k miles

Did mine this week, don't know when the prvious owner had it changed but this one had done about 10k under my ownership. Filter housing was quite clean but old filter itself had a black colouration whereas the new one is a nice clean creamy colour. Don't know if it is psychological but it seems a whole lot smoother and responsive now...
