Brake light switch

For a while my brake lights have been staying up up to about 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is a bit sporadic, and unpredictable. This afternoon, I had my head under the steering wheel and all around the brake pedal - I was told it would be there, and cannot seem to find the switch. Can anyone enlighten me as to where I would find it?

If its a B9 then its on the passenger side below the fuses.

They do keep things simple [if you're French  ] What I'm basically saying is they don't move any of the components over to the 'driver's side' on a right-hand drive vehicle if they don't have to.

I may still have to go digging, where I thought I had rectified the issue with a bit of lube around the brake pedal, I'm now still getting some time staying on. That will have to be a weekend job when I have daylight.

Change the switch - it’s cheap enough and easy to get to, just be sure to get the correct one. 

If memory serves it also works in reverse, I.e pressing the brake pedal releases the switch and turns on the brake lights.
