No, not strange at all really, the same washer pump [located in the front offside wheel arch] feeds both the front and rear nozzles and when it fails [or seizes or could even just be frozen in this weather in the UK] the default position is to feed the front windscreen [for obvious reasons] If it has just happened in the present cold snap, wait until it gets a bit warmer and check again to see if working normally. If it's still the same see below.
If you need a new washer pump. Easy to replace, driver's side wheel off, undo the plastic wheel arch clips and remove the wheel arch liner and then you can access the washer pump in the lower right hand corner as you look into the wheel arch. One quick release electrical connector and two output pipes to feed the front and rear screen [make sure you mark which pipe goes to which fitting otherwise when you select the front wash, the rear will get washed!]
The other tip [as I found out!] do not be tempted to by one of the cheap generic replacement pumps, I did and it only lasted nine months before it failed. Genuine new PSA group pumps are quite expensive, so I just bought a used [genuine] model on the second occasion and that worked fine and was still going strong when I sold on the vehicle. Get the part number from your old pump and do an online search, as not surprisingly the same pump was used on numerous Citroen and Peugeot models so there are plenty of used ones around.
