Fitting a reverse camera

Hi Everyone,

Hope you’re all having a good weekend 

I have a berlingo multi space 2014

I have been given a reverse camera and my thoughts were to wire the camera to the reverse lights, so when I put the car in reverse the reverse lights come on and the camera kicks in.

I’ve never actually wired anything to the reverse lights before, was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips before I get started. Or is there a better way to wire it up rather than going through the lights.

Directly to the reverse lamps is a basic but effective way of doing it but Id still be inclined to run a live from the front of the car and use the reverse lamps to trigger a relay.
Youll be running cables around the car anyway .
