After Locking Headlights Switch On
#1
Issue:
After BSM replacement the headlights switch on & remain on after locking doors.

Background:
My Citroen Berlingo, as detailed below, developed a relay fault - it was continually opening & closing very fast as identified by a very noticeable clicking sound & a multitude of fault codes appearing (clearly related to a lack of a good 12V power supply).
I replaced the original BSM with a new recommended updated model BSM.
I cleared all the fault codes & performed a BSI reset.
Everything worked fine in the car until I locked the doors- as the electronics  were ‘settling’ the headlights  flashed intermittently, then once the electronics fully ‘settled’ the headlights switched on & remained on.

I have done multiple BSI resets as advised on here & nothing changes.

I swapped my original BSM back in & the headlight issue was not there.
Putting the new BSM in just recreates the headlight fault every time.

Questions:
Have you replaced a 9675878280 BSM with a 9807028780 BSM?
Did it cause any issues?

Have you experienced the issue as described in any other circumstance?
How did you resolve it?

Thank you for reading this.

Neo Brothers think so, though the only way to be certain is to check using your VIN.

It could be the new unit itself is faulty, sounds like the relays aren't especially reiable,

It was another site that suggested the replacement was valid & lead me to use it rather than a second hand original....

but it is good to see it confirmed elsewhere - thank you.

I think the fact my original, but faulty in another way, unit does not replicate the light error suggests I do not have any of the issues as described on the FrenchCarForum link.

Do you know where I can get a confirmation of compatibility through my VIN as described on the link?
I will sign up & see if the poster is still active & able to do that for me in the meantime.

Thank you.
