Hi all thanks for looking at my thread
Most problems I can overcome but this is leaving me scratching my head
I'm getting abs/esp error with the skiddy car symbol intermittently, can't reproduce it at any given time
Again intermittently the van comes up with engine management light for 02 sensor, randomly doesn't do it for days and then pops on and off when it wants always the same thing
Recently it's started not letting me into the obd via snap on but will with a cheap obd reader from what I've read the obd runs different pins for different parts of the obd so it's like it's cutting out half the obd, when it finally let's me in I get every communication fault code under the sun I'll try and attach pictures, I've checked all fuses, the bsi connections, everything related and now I'm stumped
If anyone had had something similar I don't mind trying a few solutions
Thanks in advance!

Forgot to add the reason I'm posting is because the van has recently started running rough on startup like it's running on 3 or there's an injector fault ect turn it off and on sometimes it'll just run fine again like nothing happened

For numerous 'weird' faults that occur on a Berlingo [and actually in other PSA group vehicles of the same era as well] it is worth checking the engine fusebox that is adjacent to the battery in the engine bay. The reason being, it is not only a fusebox but also the underside houses an electronic circuit board that is an interface between many of the vehicle systems and the BSI. Because of a bit of a design fault on the location, if for example the scuttle drains [at either end of the engine bay under the area where the wiper motor is located] get blocked, water has nowhere to go and overflows into the engine bay soaking the engine bay fusebox and associated electronics which can cause all sorts of random electronic problems.
In my case the symptoms were [not all occurred at once] random ABS failure messages [even though I had checked all the sensors etc] random 'STOP' messages on dash, failure of rear wiper, and headlamps and main wipers would randomly switch on with the vehicle parked up and ignition off!
Normally the signs of water damage can be seen in the box in either it is still wet, or as in my case, when pulling the individual fuses I found a number of them had the connection blades badly corroded.
So to check the fusebox and electronic out switch off vehicle, wait the required time for the vehicle to enter 'sleep mode' before you disconnect the battery and then go through the fuse box looking for any sign of water damage and pull each fuse individually, look for any corrosion on the connections, if there is any clean the blades and the sockets on the board with electrical contact cleaner before refitting [do not be tempted to use anything else as other cleaners or stuff such as WD40 can cause problems on electrics] Also remove each of the larger connectors and again check for any signs of water damage and clean as necessary. Some have found that this cleaning can solve the problem, in my case though the actual circuit board on the underside was damaged [as my problem was not water damage, but a rodent had taken up living in the fusebox and has used it as a toilet!] Luckily even if you do have a damaged board the whole unit, fusebox with electronics, is replaceable and not only that, no coding to the vehicle is required, it is 'plug and play' I replaced my unit in less than 30 minutes to do the whole job. As these units are used across a whole number of different PSA group vehicles, there are many used ones around so a replacement was easy to source at a reasonable price. If the box is your problem and you do down the replacement route I must stress you must get EXACTLY the same part number box as there are many out there that look similar but will not work if a different part number.
One final thing of course, if you do find water damage in the box, make sure you find the source before box replacement otherwise it will happen again. Most common cause as I stated is blocked engine bay scuttle drains [they get clogged with leaves] so check these are clear.
Picture of the box I'm talking about with the part number that you must make sure is the same on the new part and on your vehicle.
Thanks for the reply, since reading that I've changed the fuse box from another van, same problem, I'm positive it's an electrical issue but can't pin point where to go, could the bsi be failing possibly?

As I stated in my previous, was the part number of the fusebox you replaced EXACTLY the same part number as the one originally fitted in you vehicle?
It is always possible that the BSI could have failed but it's not very common on the Berlingo and if it has failed, you are into a whole world of pain as it, as I'm sure you realise, control virtually everything and has to be coded for to the vehicle and all the peripherals.
The nature of the random faults plus the fact they are intermittent point more towards some sort of water damage [in an electrical plug somewhere] or actual wiring damage on a loom or plug somewhere. If it were the BSI, I would expect it to fail with just a hard fault.
On my M59 Berlingo, prior to my last B9 type, I did have a wiring fault somewhere in the engine bay [never found exactly where] that was an open circuit on one of the data line wires [they are a twisted pair] on the VANBUS system [which is similar to the CANBUS used on the later B9] and that was somewhere between the engine bay fuse box and the BSI. In the end I just spliced in a new twisted pair of wires to bypass the original pair between the engine bay fuse box and the BSI.
That would be my next thing to check, armed with a wiring diagram [Hopefully someone on here will provide you with one, mine went with my vehicle when sold] I would check the wiring for any open circuit wires between the engine bay fusebox disconnects and the BSI.
Yes exactly same part numbers, I've got 4 in bits ATM the one it came from was running fine just needs a gearbox that I haven't got round to fitting yet
The problem seems to be getting progressively worse now, sometimes starting it judders and cuts out then 2 mins later will start like nothing happened and I'm constantly getting the abs/asr warning now
Sounds like that could be a possible check, its like the modules aren't speaking to each other at certain times. When it's having a moment I can't connect into the obd with snap on or topdon but I can with a basic obd. When it's running fine then it will let me in, this is also when I get all the communication codes, absence of abs ecu engine ecu ect ect which is pointing me down the bsi route as its the brain, could the abs/asr warning be part of it? Such as the abs ecu is failing and sending wierd signals in the data stream?

Another thing to check, as it was a problem had by another user @shtu that sounds similar in some respects [ABS messages] and the component involved also is controls the fuel pump via a relay [so could be the source of poor running as well?] so it might be worth checking out this thread where he has helpfully listed all the wiring checks to do. It is an easy component to get at to check out the wiring, as it was one of the things I checked when I had my ABS messages.
