Key fob
#1
[attachment=10371][attachment=10371]The other day my key fob fell apart.  Years ago I had bought a replacement;  it needed the key cutting and had no electronics in it.  So the other day I decided to make use of it.  The actual key part has loads of life in it so I put it into the spare and transferred the electronics.  Has anyone else done this.  To get the actual key part off there is a tiny roll pin which has to be tapped out then the key bit can be pulled out of its housing and fitting it into the new fob is a reversal.  I even transferred the logo.
Make life easier - go automatic. Cool

Good job! Yes, my 2008 B9 Berlingo both key fobs were falling apart, one had the buttons worn out and one the key 'blade' would not lock in either the open or closed position which used to annoy me [I know, first World problems  Wink ]

Bought a couple of cheap replacements from eBay [think only about £6 for two delivered] and then just swapped over the electronic boards and the key blades by removing the small roll pin, as you stated and like you, swapped over the Citroen logos on the fobs.

They were both still working fine when I sold on the vehicle last year.

I do this about 2yearly intervals.
They dont last long.
I keep a spare in hand ready to go
The retractable bit fails after a fortnight.
Batteries last about 6years.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top
