New to Berlingo
#1
At 62 years young, I took the plunge and purchased my first van, which is a 2017 B9 Enterprise. Its primarily for shifting me and an MTB or two people and two MTBs with occasional duty hauling camping gear around.

Its a Milenium Falcon of a van, a bit beaten up but mechanically sound, which suits me as it doesn't stand out. I took the interior panelling off and sound deadened the back, insulated and filled the spaces with recycled plastic bottles, then replaced the panelling, which has made a huge difference to boom and also to the condensation, which was an issue when I got it in the New Year.

Got loads of history with it but had to have a little bit of backfill maintenance done, but that was to be expected. Thought I'd got away with the air conditioning just being regassed as the test held a vacuum and it was regassed but there's a not that slow, slow-leak which can't be seen with the likely culprit being the condenser. Bumper off time apparently.

Question: If the bumper has to come off to replace the a/c condenser and or the radiator, has anyone put a mesh behind the open grille in the bumper to catch any foreign objects from putting a hole in either matrix? I know this will be a balance of a fine enough mesh to stop anything getting through and a large enough mesh to allow adequate flow of air but any thoughts as its looking like a £500 job to have the condenser changed and I'm not keen on that being a regular outlay. Yes, I could run without a/c but I'd prefer not to. Thanks in anticipation.

Ive had mine thirteen years old and has had no extra mesh.
Its been used and abused, hit by a drug driver and driven on appalling roads but all the coolers are still undamaged.
I think the standard inlets provide sufficient protection
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

More likely to be better served by giving the condensor a careful rub-don and a coat of satin black. Tends to be corrosion that see them off.
