A couple of years ago, I converted my 2017 Berlingo to a micro camper, and I recently decided it was due for some upgrades. After reading on this forum how others had successfully installed the mechanism from a front/left door in their barn doors, for being able to open the doors from inside, I gave it a shot as well today ...
Unfortunately, this has been a bad idea. While I thought it would be relatively simple, the parts that I had ordered did not completely match the original parts. Especially the "barrel" around the cable was different, making it impossible to properly lock it in the rear door "handle" mechanism. At one point, the internal handle was working, but the outside handle refused to open the door, and I could no longer lock my car.
After a while, I read a comment on the guide of @jemselectrical in which someone said that their 2017 Berlingo (same year as mine) had a plastic panel for the rear door handle mechanism (possibly from a Citroen Dispatch), while other versions often had a metal one.
Since I was in the same boat, I decided to call it a day and reinstall the original mechanism... But this is when everything went wrong.
I have no clue how this happened, but somewhere during this process, the mechanism for locking the "lock barrel" disconnected and fell inside the door. This is for the torx screw that is hidden behind the sticker on the side of the door.
As you can see from the pictures, I found this part and some plastic bits. To me, it is completely unclear how that part was originally connected to the inside of the door, so the hole aligns with the Torx. And I also cannot find the part number to get a better idea.
Is there someone more knowledgeable who could assist me with figuring this out? As my car is currently unable to be locked, I am hoping to find the fix quickly!
Thanks
